MY LIFE

I love investing in real estate. It has been one of my passions for many years now. I bought my first piece of real estate when I was just a teenager and had not been married very long. I found this little two bedroom house that I thought would be prefect to raise a family. So I negotiated a no down payment and a very low interest rate. My husband and I refurbished it as we had the money.

In the 70’s I continued to purchase homes and flip them. We didn’t call it flipping back in those days. It was called "fixer uppers" We bought them fixed them up and put them up for resale. What fun those days were. I had a baby boy, my own home and was purchasing other homes as money and time would permit. Then I decided to get into health care. The life of raising a family, working in health care and purchasing properties became more than a full time job.

In The 80’s I decided to add commercial properties to my list of investments, and rent them to business owners. I believe this may be simpler than renting to individuals, But maybe not as much fun. My son invests in real estate also. He will hire a contractor to build him middle income homes, and then he rents them out. The nice thing about real estate is there are many ways to invest.

Then I felt the need to expand my horizons and do something different that is when I decided to open a Medical Equipment business. This became more work than I really wanted to do after opening 5 offices.

In the 90’s I continued buying and selling real estate and overseeing the Medical equipment business. In 1991 I decided to open a Medical Home health agency. Little did I know that would consume a huge portion of my time and not permit me to work with my real estate as much as I wanted to. After opening many offices throughout the state of Oklahoma and Texas, I added a State Provider Program and a Hospice Care Program in both states with many offices to oversee.

In the 2000’s life is still very busy, but I have wonderful CEO’s that oversee my business’s and that has freed me up to get more involved in real estate where my passion is. I have found my paradise in Ecuador. That is why I am investing in real estate here. This is where I will retire. I have a great project in a small town called Cotacochi in the Andes. Within a lovely gated community. Also very soon we will start another project developing condos on the beach in San Clemente.
